一、Teaching aims:

Step 1: Warming up
Free talk: What can we use fire to do in our lives ?
Why is fire dangerous?
Step 2: Pre-reading
Present some new words and expressions by showing some pictures.
Match the new words.
Step 3: While-reading
skimming
Skim the passage and answer the following question:
1.Who’s the brave young man?
2.What did the young man do?
scanning
Read the story quickly and try to do “T” or “F”
1.Zhang Hua helped his neighbour out of a fire.
2.Mrs Sun couldn’t get out because she hurt her leg.
3.Mrs Sun was in her kitchen when the fire took place.
4.Zhang Hua put out the fire with a blanket.
5.The fire burnt Zhang Hua’s neck, arms and face.
6.Many people visited him and brought him flowers and presents.
Careful reading
1. Read the text carefully and find some important details in the text, and then answer the following questions.

(2). How did he save his neighbour?
(3). What happened to him?
(4). What did he say?
2. Put the following sentences in the right order .
