Unit 3 What are you doing for vacation?
(The Third Period)

The analyse of the book:
In this unit the topic is “Vacation plans” .Students should learn how to talk their future plan with “ be+doing”
The analyse of students:
Students are willing to talk about their vacation plans, but using “ be+doing” patterns are hard for them. Pair work and group work can help them find and solve the difficulties.
Target language
1. Word and phrases:
babysit , camp ,away, send, postcard ,how long, get back etc.
2. Key sentences :What are you doing for vacation?
I am visiting my friends in Hong Kong.
How long are you staying?
Just for 4 days.
Ability goals
1. enable students to talk about their vacation plan.
2. communicate with others freely.

StepII. Warming up
T: Review “What are you doing for vacation?”
Ss: answer one by one
T: use pictures to show vacation plans
Ss: answer “I am +doing “
StepIII. Listeng and reading ( 3 a )
T: play the tape, and ask students to comprehend the conversations.
Ss: 1.listen and read the conversations
2.find the answers and hard points, ask help for deskmates and teacher
3.fill in the chart, and check the answers in PPT with the teacher.

T: let students look at the information of “Dave, Zhu Yan, Mary and Mike ”
Ss: read the information , find the difficulties
T: give an example , and make a conversation with Ss
Ss: do pair work , to make new conversations
T: help Ss, and encourage Ss to give a report
Ss: show and learn from each other

T: ask Ss to write their vacation dreams with “What, when, where , how long ”questions
Ss: group work to write a plan
