Unit Two Lesson Five

Step 1 Revision
1. Check the homework exercises.
2. Ask some Ss to read aloud their letters about their holiday .
3. Revise some school rules. Ask Can students leave the classroom /eat food during a lesson? etc. Then get the Ss to state some rules.
4. Write a list of school rules on the Bb. Divide them into two columns, positive (Students must/can...) and negative (Students must not/cannot ....). Teach the set phrase Do's and Don'ts which means positive and negative rules. Note how the verb do/don't is used as a plural noun in this special phrase.
Step 2 Presentation
SB Lesson 5. Part l. Books open. Get the Ss to look at the picture. Ask:
1. Where are they ? (In the science lab.)
2. What can you see in the picture?
Teach some new words by referring to the picture: cupboard, basin, etc.
Tell the Ss Mr. Zhu is giving the students som。。。
